Hamburger Recipe

Delicious, homemade hamburger recipe. Make this once and you will never want a burger from any other place!
Course: Main Course
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef 80/20
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1/4 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs may need more if texture of meat feels sticky
  • 2 Tbsp dried parsley

Method

  1. Pre-heat your grill to high. We will turn down the temp when we are ready to put the burgers on.
  2. In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients and mix together until everything is thoroughly combined. If the meat feels a little sticky, add some more breadcrumbs, little by little until the texture feels moist but sturdy.
  3. Form into large patties. The meat will shrink while cooking
  4. Turn down the grill temp to medium. Cook for 5 minutes on each side for medium well burgers.
  5. If making cheese burgers, add cheese after the 5 minutes on the flipped side. Cover for 30 seconds or until the cheese is melted.
  6. Finally, assemble your burger with the toppings of your choice and enjoy!

Notes

Mona's tip: Make a thumb indent in the center of the patties to prevent an uneven, puffed-up burger.
Mona's tip: Try only flipping the patties once to avoid overcooking the meat.
Mona's tip: Fold in the corners of the sliced cheese before placing it on the burger. This will prevent cheese from melting onto the grill.
Mona's tip: Add your favorite barbecue sauce to the patties while on the grill (on the cooked side) for extra flavor. Nothing like that caramelized BBQ sauce!
